My approach:

Inspired by the art  and palette
of neurobiology artist Greg Dunn (featured on the cover and in the section openers), I did a complete redesign for the 7th edition of Biological Psychology.

I sampled elements of the
opener art for each section to create openers for the chapters within them and created a unique symbol be used on the cover and chapter opening numbers.
